around
There are numerous adventures all around the rural idyll. You can explore the castles and palaces in our region by bike, climb on horseback at one of the many riding stables, explore the surrounding area in your hiking boots or simply spend the day in the Riff spa and leisure pool .
Cycling tours
The Saxon castle and heathland, on the edge of the Colditzer Forest nature reserve, is perfect for cycling with its wooded surroundings. There is a connection to the Altenburg-Colditz long-distance cycle path in the immediate vicinity, which can also be passed from us in both directions. For example, Colditz and Grimma can be reached by bike in less than an hour and, at around 30 km including the return journey, are a nice day trip.
If you like it a little more knightly, drive a mere 22 km to Kohren-Sahlis and take a look at
Day trips
In the Kohren-Sahlis district of Gnandstein, for example, well-known fairy tale motifs can be admired as miniature representations, and the 527- meter-long summer toboggan run is great fun for young and old. The Leipzig Zoo , which is already worth a whole day trip, can also be reached in half an hour thanks to the good S-Bahn connection. We will give you more information on site about other seasonal offers such as the corn maze in Benndorf.

Hike
Bad Lausick, with its many small districts, offers a varied landscape, which, for example, makes it possible to visit a mill in Ballendorf that is over 100 years old. On this route, we also recommend a hike through the Colditzer Forest , which, together with the adjacent Glastener area, is one of the largest forest areas in Saxony. Continuing through the forest to the Parthenquelle and via Buchheim back to the campsite, you walk just under 18 km in a leisurely 6 hours.
